Musician from Aigues Mortes, France. Member of the white penitents, with deep faith and passion for Gregorian chants and sacred Hindu music.
To play this specific type of music, he had a unique creation built for his music.
His instrument is mixing the indian tanpura an accompaniment instrument and the old Épinette which is a western medieval instrument, it is called “Scheitholt” in Germany . He named it Saradar Tanpura. Saradar means Prince. To be able to have such a unique treasure he worked with some ancient instrument music makers.
Philippe has written music for Saint Mary Magdalene to honor our wonderful saint and his mother who caries the same name.

“Among different musical activities, I am a Choir Master of the Pénitents blancs in Aigues-Mortes (France),I happen to meet Marion the see visited our chapel and we organized a prayer and music program in june 2020 in our place, for the group of « Magdalena pilgrims » she was managing. I was interested in such a program because of the great interest I have in joining devotion and music. You will see hereafter a short presentation from the booklet of my last CD, explaining my approach.I’d like to add one very important point for me. Considering the entire universe relies on vibrations, even the slightest matter element, be able to produce harmonic vibrations by singing is for me the most sweet tribute to pay to who sustains the whole universe, including you and me. “

The following music is “Magdalæ Sidus”the gregorian hymn

Translation of Magdalæ Sidus:
Magdalena the star, the blessed woman, we worship you with a devotional faith,
You, to whom Christ  was linked with a close love node.

When was revealed to you his formidable power, destroying evil forces,
you are grateful for him who healed you, and attract you in a connexion higher than faith

And then your affection drove you to stay at the feet of the Master,
always providing passionately sensitive cares to him.

With the other women crying at the foot of the cross, your heart burning of tenderness,
you cleaned and perfumed his body, before the grave.

We have been generated by Christ’s love, make us join his triumph for eternity,
and sing loud with you the praises of the beloved.

“It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from inside you—the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. That beauty will never disappear and it is worth very much to God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4
